Jay-Zeezer
Jay-Zeezer is a Mash-up of rap artist Jay-Z and rock group Weezer. It was collabarated by DJ Mike[1] in Philadelphia, PA. Mike (he calls himself that due to lack of a "dj name") was an indie rock fan who stumbled upon DJ Danger Mouse's Grey Album and ,with a love for pirating music and internet stardom, jumped into action remixing. He had to first think of another album to mix with Jay-Z's The Black Album. He tried many different ideas, but none worked too well until he came up with Weezer's The Blue album.
"With lyrics such as 'What's with these homies dissin' my girl?', it practically remixed itself. Paydirt. "Jay-Zeezer" was born." Mike writes on his official Jay-Zeezer webpage Jay-Zeezer.com.
The album includes, mostly, Jay-Z rapping over Weezer tunes and beats. Choruses usually contain both Weezer and Jay-Z lyrics. The album also has "bonus tracks" which, somewhat randomly, include Usher, Ludacris, Beyonce, and Lil' Jon. These bonus tracks were due to more Weezer songs than Jay-Z songs. Also on the site and envolved with the album are many pictures [2] in which Jay-Z is pasted into a shot of Weezer performing live. Also there is a brilliant and comical video mix of Jay-Z's 99 Problems and Weezer's Buddly Holly [3].
