Jimblah
Jimblah (born James Alberts) is an Indigenous Australian producer, rapper and singer from Adelaide, South Australia. A member of the Larrakia, Yanyuwa, Bardi and Wardaman Nations, Jimblah was born in Broome, Western Australia and grew up in Katherine in the Northern Territory. He began rapping and writing at the age of fifteen, after moving from Broome to Adelaide. In 2007, Jimblah won the Hilltop Hoods Initiative award; considerably boosting his profile. From this point, he received such accolades as being a Triple J Unearthed Artist of the Week; as well as festival appearances at Good Vibrations, Dreaming and the Big Day Out. After releasing several tracks online, his debut studio album, Face the Fire, was released independently in 2011. The album was re-released the following year after Alberts was signed to Elefant Traks. Jimblah's second album, Phoenix, was released on October 11, 2013 via Elefant Traks. Read more on Last.fm.
