Josephine
Josephine is a name of at least seven acts.
[[b]1] A mononym of Manchester, UK, singer/songwriter Josephine Oniyama. She débuted with the track "Closer" (on In the City: Unsigned 2006, Oct 2006) and her latest album is Portrait (Oct 2012, Ark).
Her music is inspired by the musicians of the Manchester area coupled with the musical heritage of her West African family. In her youth, house parties invariably centered on her mother’s collection of vinyl: highlife, soul and Congolese music. Stacked in the front room was King Sunny Ade, The Isley Brothers, The Supremes, Ali Farka Touré and Johnny Cash.
