Juice Leskinen Grand Slam
Juice Leskinen Grand Slam was the multitalented Finnish rock band led by the famed singer-songwriter Juice Leskinen. The band was found in 1982 and was put on complete hiatus by Leskinen in 1991 after the album "Taivaan kappaleita". Grand Slam never officially disbanded before Leskinen's death in November 2006.
During its existence the band recorded five studio albums, one live album and an extended EP. Their 1986 double album "Yölento" was their creative and commercial zenith, going Platinum in Finland and spawning classic tracks like "Kaksoiselämää" and "Rakkauden ammattilainen".
During the 80's the band toured frequently around Finland. It gained questionable fame in media because of the heavy drinking and partying habits of many of its members. In 1986 the health of frontman Juice Leskinen declined rapidly - probably partially because of Leskinen's care-free rock'n'roll lifestyle - and the band was forced to stop touring altogether.
