Kone
1.) KONE will likely be a new name to most people out there, but if the rest of the world catches on to what Los Angeles has already figured out, that could change soon. Originally from Topanga Canyon and now rooted in East Hollywood for the last decade, KONE is a native Angeleno poised to do his hometown proud. And even if you've never heard the name, you've probably heard the sounds; KONE's tracks were played at Low End Theory long before he ever did.
KONE has spent the last several years putting on parties, releasing his own music, steadily remixing a vast array of artists, rocking up and down the West Coast and New York City, and always digging for records along the way.
2.) Kone is a side project of Phil Western known for his solo projects (including Floatpoint, Off And Gone, Frozen Rabbit among others), as well as work with cEvin Key in Download and Plateau.
3.) Kone is DJ and producer from Varka Kru, Riga, Latvia. (kone.varka.org). Together with DJs Betons, Ginnz and MC Dr_Ups, the core of famous Varka Kru, he was responsible for developing drum'n'bass culture in Latvia during 1996-2000. Later Kone has widened his musical spectre a lot. Now he influenced mostly by minimal and nu'jazz sound. Producer aliases: Nominal, Soika & Kone, Drumstorm.
Kone performed together with Paul Murphy (Afro Art), Roni Size (Full Cycle), Future Prophecies to name a few.
4.) KONE is also an Electrobass / breakbeat producer from Malta. His tracks can be heard at myspace.com/konebass. He is also responsible for the Underwater Adventure Mix which is a tribute to James Stinson and Gerald Donald. Read more on Last.fm.
