L. Voag
L. Voag (real name Jim Welton) was the bass player of post-punk, DIY group The Homosexuals. After leaving the band in 1979 he released the solo album 'The Way Out' (recorded in the downtime between Homosexuals recording sessions) which was the first of a slew of solo and collaborative releases utilising a dizzying array of pseudonyms (including Amos, Xentos Jones, Narky Brillans, Vic Serf) which were released between 1979 - 1984 on his label It's War Boys. Playing almost of the instruments himself, 'The Way Out' featured many sampled sounds and humming and buzzing. The L is meant to be the mathematical symbol for a right angle and not the letter 'L'.
