Lis Er Stille
LIS ER STILLE /// LISERSTILLE
2012 is the year the world will end.
It is of no significance whether this is true or not. All that matters is interpretation.
Lis Er Stille plays dreamy and mentally disturbed art-rock of 2012.
The four members derive from very different musical backgrounds, and initially formed the band as an art project, creating music for surrealistic paintings.
The group developed into an independent rock band long ago, but the loyalty towards art and value has remained persistently intact.
Stardust and punches to the gut
In February 2012 Lis Er Stille released their fourth album titled NOUS - Greek for the human intelligence that is necessary for understanding what is true and real.
The album includes six massive tracks that are directed towards a future full of hope without security, while at the same time containing distinct traces of the past. The brute strength of The Collibro (2010), the beauty of Apathobvious (2007) and the epic power themes of Amp-train (2006) are merged into a solid sound of a band which, until their last drop, believes in the path of the substance.
The songs were composed and recorded below trembling power pylons in the outskirts of Aarhus, DK in Lis Er Stille’s own studio, “Cube of Eternal Doom”. The tracks were then brought into the dusk of Nim, DK - where Anders Ruby served mix and master on a tray of stardust and punches to the gut. In the wee hours the tracks were awakened in a completely unique soundscape. The space is dark massive and at the same time airily dynamic and almost unrealistically defined.
Dive below the surface
In recent years Lis Er Stille has achieved increasingly positive attention from several European countries. F.x. did the biggest German prog-rock magazine Eclipsed recently award NOUS 9/10 points with the words:
"Unwiderstehliche Sogwirkung, dominant, mystisch, wundervoll!"
Furthermore Lis Er Stille is known to be a fantastic and very energetic live band – one who’d rather bleed to death on stage than spend another day at the office. The band has performed countless concerts in Denmark and in touring Europe, and moreover has attended ‘Popkomm’ in Berlin, Sweden’s biggest festival ’Peace&Love’ and Roskilde Festival.
No compromise
Our mantra in LES has always been ‘no compromise!’ We do not believe in cultural rules regarding the creation of music, what it should contain or when. Music emerges from the very deepest and highest places, and cannot be limited by rules or time - at any cost. A piece of music takes the time it needs to tell the story it is meant to tell. It may last for 2 seconds or 30 years if it has to. There is no right or wrong. Read more on Last.fm.
