Lluther
Lluther was originally formed in 2004 by Gerry Owens, who was looking for a new direction in music following the break-up of the highly acclaimed Skindive, a band fronted by Danielle Harrison in which Gerry was the main songwriter and guitarist. Skindive had been signed to music legend Chris Blackwell (U2, Tricky, Bob Marley etc)’s Palm Pictures record label, and their albums received excellent critical reviews with very credible sales in the US and around Europe. Skindive’s music featured in several television programs and was also used in the prestigious MTV Awards ceremony in 2003. Over the years, several of Gerry Owens compositions have also been used in various film soundtracks (Nightwatch, 3 Crosses etc).
Shortly after Lluther were formed they recorded and self-released their first EP “Venus Complex” and this led to them being quickly snapped up and signed to the German heavy rock label Tiefdruck Music. Back into the recording studio and the album “Agents Of Empire” was released shortly after on the Tiefdruck label. Working closely with the label they began to play all around Europe and got a tremendous crowd reaction. In early 2008, Lluther parted amicably with Tiefdruck as the band saw a much wider scope and vision for their music. At this time, Gerry’s songwriting and composing abilities were recognised by international music giants EMI Publishing where he signed to a major worldwide deal, and opened up infinite possibilities for Lluther’s music to be heard around the world.
All tracks on Rise Of The Reptile King were written and produced by Gerry Owens, mixed by both Gerry and renowned studio mixer Chris O’Brien, and mastered by Richard Dowling. Read more on Last.fm.
