Loomis Slovak
Loomis Slovak hailed from the eastern Los Angeles suburbs and were active from 1993-1995. The original lineup consisted of Darren O'Brian, Devin Ocampo, Isreal Lawrence and Chad Moulter. The recorded output from this period included the "1917-2917 1000 Year Reign of Terror" four song seven inch (youthstrikechord) and contributions to the HeartAttack #10 LP compilation (ebullition) as well as Basement Tapes: A KSPC Compilation Of Live Recordings LP complilation.
Ocampo and Moulter left California for New York and later D.C in late '94. They have performed in subsequent years with Faraquet, Smart Went Crazy, Mary Timony Band and Medications.
O'Brian and Lawrence soldiered on for another year with a rotating cast of characters augmenting the lineup. These included Kieth Fitz (Foxations, The Invisible Men, Bomboras), Ryan Elliot (Honeywell), Aaron Kenyon (Man is the Bastard, Djam Karet, Controlling Hand, Lux Nova Umbra Est) and Drew Gilbert (Floodgate, Campaign, Fisticuffs Bluff, Notorious Love Affair). The sole recorded output from this period consisted of its contibution to the Cry Now, Cry Later Volume 3-4 double seven inch compilation (pessimiser/theologian). After the dissolution of Loomis Slovak, Lawrence later worked with Man is the Bastard, Bastard Noise and Controlling Hand. Read more on Last.fm.
