Mörk Gryning
Mörk Gryning was a melodic black metal/progressive black metal band from Stockholm, Sweden, formed in 1993 and dissolved in 2005.
Sweden's Mörk Gryning, meaning "dark dawn", was formed in the early 90's by the multi-talented duo of Goth (guitars, bass, keyboards, backing vocals) and Draakh Kimera (vocals, guitars, keyboards, drums), who recorded their complex black metal on 1995's Tusen år har gått... and 1997's Return Fire. In 2001 they released their third full-length, Maelstrom Chaos. Continuing with the aid of guitarist Avatar, bassist Fredrik Boëthius, and drummer Carl-Gustaf Bäckström, the album's grand sonic vision did not disappoint the fans. With 2003's equally diverse fourth effort, Pieces of Primal Expressionism, Mörk Gryning had returned to a smaller line-up, with only Aeon (synths, mellotron) added for support.
Goth dissolved the band in early 2005, due to a lack of interest in extreme metal. However, the band returned to complete their final self-titled album. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
