MC TiKMAN
MC TiKMAN was born in Hong Kong in 1984 and grew up in Macau. In the summer of 1996, he moved to Toronto, a place where he found out what hiphop is. TiKMAN never knew what hiphop is until he moved to Canada. He recalls that a few of the first rap songs he'd ever heard were 2PAC's "changes" and Eminem's "My name is". At first he thought it was weird and didn't like it too much. As time goes by, hiphop culture became more and more popular among teens, TiKMAN started listening to rap music because it was the cool thing to do, not because he was interested in it. Later on he realized that he was starting to like rap music and his interest in rap music grew as he continued to listen to it.
At the age of 15, TiKMAN started producing his own music and writing lyrics. He started off writing his songs in english, and later he noticed that there were barely any chinese rap songs, so he decided to write his songs in chinese. In 2002, TiKMAN got in contact with DJ Tommy and got the chance to record a track with him, TiKMAN went back to Hong Kong in the summer that year and recorded track #4 in DJ Tommy's 2003's release "Updated Software 2.0". Since then TiKMAN kept producing and writing songs trying to expand and be a part of the hiphop community in Hong Kong. Read more on Last.fm.
