Mandinga
Mandinga is an Romanian latin-influenced Balkan folklore band from Bucharest, Romania, The group represents Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Zaleilah", after winning the Romanian national final.
Mandinga debuted in December 2002 and has performed across Romania. They also have been invited to perform in Bulgaria, Germany, Serbia, Poland, and Cuba. Mandinga sings in Romanian, Spanish and English. Their music is intercultural, world music, a blend of Latin, with foclor Balkans, and influences from a multitude of styles from salsa, La Guajira, hip-hop, Guajira funk, bolero, cha-cha, reggaeton, to R&B, Latin house, calypso, Latin hip-hop and acid jazz even.
The group members are Alex (Trumpet and vocals), Bazooka (timbales and percussion), Florin (bass and vocals), Chup (drums, percussion and vocals), Omar Secada (keyboard), Ella (vocals), Zach (saxophone), Tony (trombone), Alejandro (Vocals), and El Nino (percussion). In addition, Mandinga has two professional dancers, Elena and Simona.
In 2007 had a record number of concerts - about 300. They had numerous media appearances, guests in most important TV show in Romania. For several months, Mandinga was always invited to Danutz Ltd - one of the most popular and most watched TV shows in Romania. Mandinga has its own brand of organizing the show - SALSA FEST his own brand of dance - SALSAPHORIA. The public conscience Mandinga brand is associated with good mood, with dance, Latin spirit.
