Marc O'Tool
Born and raised in Essen,
Germany - producer and DJ Marc O`Tool (33)
is handled as one of Germanys most talented and
uprising progressive house pioneers.
Marco has been influencing the electronic
musicscene from the early age of 20 years.
His first records, which have been produced
only with a very minimal homestudio,
already gained support from top-dj´s such as
Westbam and were a main part of the early days of House and Techno.
In these days Marco was also running very popular club events where he used to bring
DJs like Laurent Garnier or Robert Hood over to germany to present underground music
to an open-minded audience.
His first years in business of course were more fun than business,
but Marco more and more wanted to become a developing
part of the electronic music scene.
Music became a fulltime job for him meanwhile,
not only as a producer, but also because he currently owns two labels.
Apart from his own offshoot label Mauritius as well as Underworld Rec.,
Marco can look back on over 80 releases
he used to publish on various nationally and internationally
renowned labels like Hooj Choons,
Maelstrom, Superfly Records, Spot On and Poison Recordings,
not only as Marc O´Tool but also under his diverse
monikers such as Ballroom or Motorcraft.
But he is also equally requested and well-known for his remix works
and has put his spell on
records such as DJ Tiesto´s Urban Train,
whichentered the UK sales-charts at .. 20,
Tall Paul vs. INXS Precious Heart, Martin H,
JBN or DJ Quicksilver. Because of rising requests,
Marco had almost no chance not to introduce himself
to his audience also as an artist to touch.
His DJ-popularityis increasing from day to day
and so he spices up the most en-vogue clubs
and festivals in germany as well as headlining diverse
international events in countries
such as Mexico, Greece, Russia, Denmark to name but a few.
There is no doubt that this workaholic is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
2002 he finally teamed up with ELECTRIBE,
which should become his new home,
label- and management wise, from then on.
He was the labels´ first night with his promising doubletracker
Black`n`white / Lexicon Legend,
followed half a year later by his second double
A-side entitled Logical / Jack.
Having gained the support from almost every toplevel dj in the world
without seeing any boarders of style people like Deep Dish,
John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie,
Sander Kleinenberg, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto,
Saeed & Palash, Moguai, Tall Paul,
are just a very few examples - it was about time to bring it to the next level.
So he thought, locked himself away into his studio hardly working
and came out half a year later with a large amount of different unique tracks.
A selection of the best, most representative and
outstanding tracks have been bound together
to his very first artist album called Tao.
Introduced by the self-named Tao-EP
including passenger 2.0, a re-design of his biggest success to date on
Hooj Choons´ sister label Lost Language
under his Ballroom guide and now turned into an official
Marc O´Tool single,
he again made it to catch the spotlight
and to have his music played in all the big rooms around this world.
Tao the album is set to be released in june 2004 on Electribe,
followed by and presented on a worldwide
tour to spread the word (or shall we better say the music?)!
