Marihiko Hara
Marihiko Hara is a sound artist and composer residing in Kyoto, Japan primarily working in the field of electronic and acoustic music for theatre and film, performance and visual arts. Thus far, at the age of 30, Marihiko has released albums with Home Normal and audiobulb (UK), Tench (US), leerraum (CH), Drone Sweet Drone (FR), Shrine and nightcruising (JP). "Credo" released by Home Normal (UK) was selected for the shortlist Best of 2011, Music For Sonic Installations (Headphone Commute).
Recently 'Columbos' (A short film directed by Kawai+Okamura, Music by Marihiko Hara) was awarded the Silver Dragon (the Best Animated Film) at the 53rd Krakow Film Festival which officially was invited to screen at the Locarno International Film Festival (2012), Eyeworks Festival of Experimental Animation Chicago, US (2012) and International Film Festival Rotterdam.
Since graduating from Kyoto University, Hara has been active in collaborating with various artists. He is a member of CHROMA and pop group Rimacona. The project by Shiro Takatani (Dumb Type), CHROMA, recently performed at Sonar Sound (Tokyo) and the Festival de Marseille (France). He has played with Andi Otto at the official inauguration of Goethe-Institut, in Kyoto and collaborated with acclaimed artists MAN, Sylvain Chauveau, Tomas Phillips and Pleq.
