Matt Harding
Matt Harding >myspace page< began recording his songs in 1997 at the age of 22. "I had a guitar but couldn't play, I started writing a few things and learned to play a reasonable enough standard to do the songs." Much learning, crafting and shaping songs followed to create his most recent album 'Tomorrow'. "When I'm writing, the only criteria I have is that it has to have some feeling. Happy or sad, it doesn't matter. I like different sounds and styles and experimenting while still being direct. I want to make my stuff slightly abstract in structure and atmosphere but still be accessible and melodic."
Matt Harding's productions are a sea of many influences. If you ask him who those influences are he'll reply in songs as opposed to individual artists and it is because of this eclectic interest that his own songs are so incredibly diverse and beautiful. The unclassifiable are almost always the most outstanding. An acoustic guitar backdrop that's peppered with a kicking drum beat and lo-fi electronic lashings to complement Harding's folk like vocal bliss. Read more on Last.fm.
