Maude Maggart
Maude Maggart is a cabaret singer performing primarily in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. She was born in New York City to Broadway veterans Brandon Maggart and Diane McAfee and is the sister of singer/songwriter Fiona Apple and now lives in Venice, California and New York City. She launched her career in Los Angeles in 2001. Maude has been profiled on NPR and has appeared multiple times on Prairie Home Companion.
Her debut CD Look For The Silver Lining is a collection of songs written in the 1920's, beautifully interpreted through her haunting and ethereal voice.
On With Sweet Despair the heartbreaking voice of Maude Maggart breathes new life into classic and contemporary american standards. She is accompanied by John Boswell on piano, Dr. Jim Sitterly on violin, and Marston Smith on cello.
On her third album Maude Maggart Sings Irving Berlin Maude continues to explore the Great American Songbook with some rarely heard Irving Berlin songs along with more well-known ones from the great songwriter.
