Mean Machine
There are at least two bands named "Mean Machine".
1. Mean Machine is an all-girl Japanese rock band. Mean Machine was started by Chara and Chiwaki on a whim, choosing the themes "have fun", "cute with pheromones", and "play an instrument you never have before" to guide their band, and friends to join as members. Mean Machine starred in the Tower Records "No Music, No Life" advertising campaign, and debuted in 2001.

Vocals: Ayumi Ito; won a Japanese Academy Award for best new actress and best supporting actress with her role as "Ageha" in Shunji Iwai's "Swallowtail Butterfly".
Guitar: Mayumi Chiwaki. (ちわきまゆみ)
Bass: Yukarie; tenor sax for "The Thrill".
Drums: Yuki Isoya; Ex-Judy and Mary vocalist, currently a solo artist known as YUKI.
Drums: Chara; stars in "Swallowtail Butterfly" with Ito, currently a solo artist known as Chara.

2. Mean Machine is a heavy/speed metal band from Barcelona, Spain. They are currently comprised of Juan Pedro Quesada (guitars), Marc Tàpies (drums) and Raúl Mesa (bass/vocals).
