Melissmell
Melissmell is the moniker of French singer-songwriter and graphic designer Melanie Francette Coulet, and the name of her band. Melanie got her stage name by combining her first name, the vocal technique melisma and the name of one of her favourite songs - Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit.
The act came to prominence in October 2010, upon release of the Aux Armes EP and subsequently went on to achieve some critical success and release two albums.
There have beeen a lot of musicians taking part in recording of both Melissmell albums (Écoute s'il pleut from 2011 and Droit dans la Gueule du Loup (DGL) from 2013) and playing on tours.
The music of Melissmell is said to be inspired by Noir Désir, Léo Ferré, Mano Solo, Jacques Brel and Nirvana. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
