Concrete. Industrial. Gigantic machines with German names... Mergel Kratzer evolved from the barren environments of Gotland. Inspiration from a cement factory combined with fast, arpeggiated synthesiezers and hammering basslines created the sound. A hoarse voice and some distorted beats added the EBM-touch...
Back in 2005, when it all started, it was just Joel and Kalle. They decided to start a band with one clear ambition; to make a better live show than most of the electronic bands out there. And there was only one way to go: the way through hard work and practice.
Time passed by and the band spread their wings. They are now located all over the country of Sweden, with their primary base in the suburban outskirts of Gothenburg. Some members have gone, some new recruited, and they all get together at their gigs.
Did they succeed with their live performances? Well, I think you have to see them and judge for yourself. I once heard a man coming from a Mergel concert with the statement "like a German weapon factory". I don't know if that's good or bad, but something tells me that they will keep going.
