Mire Kay
Mire Kay is Emelie Molin and Victoria Skoglund from Audrey. As Mire Kay they get to explore a more minimalistic spectrum than we’re used to hearing them in, yet it sounds bigger than ever. Less is more indeed.
The duo makes use of their voices and instruments in a way that make you feel like having entered a hidden place when listening to their music. On their debut EP the dark and bright are set against each other and the differences between the ambitious grandeur and the simple and naive gets blurred into almost non-existing. Everything is connected and framed into the same picture that Mire Kay has chosen to name Fortress, a five song EP that marks the beginning of one of the most interesting constellations we’ve heard in a long time.
"When closing your eyes you will never know where you will end up. Maybe somewhere between the roar of a capital city or beneath a bridge where you can hear the water murmur. You will maybe find a link to your home or to the continent, or you might just find the world of Mire Kay. It is a place where things are simple, where fragile sounds whisper in the spruce tops of trees and memories become as real as you remembered them to be. Adorned by luminous and vivid colors, this place is where you will find the presence of our music. Don’t expect to find answers but instead an urge to start asking." Read more on Last.fm.
