MOUNTAINSIDE:
Rytelis - bass, throat
Šaras - guitars
Karolis - drummer.
The Lithuanian alternative heavy rock band MOUNTAINSIDE came into existence in the early spring of 1996 after the break-up of the thrash-core mob Delirium Tremens. The band was formed by former DT members the bassist Rytelis and his guitar playing brother Sharas. Sharas' childhood friend Bakas was recruited as a drummer and Lekas, the member of the black metal outfit Valefar, took over the mic. That was the first incarnation of MOUNTAINSIDE.
After some time, it became apparent that not everyone in the group harboured the same kind of commitment to the band, and Lekas was asked to leave MOUNTAINSIDE. After Lekas had left, the band had no singer, and Rytelis, who used to sing on several tracks, started singing full-time and continued playing the bass.
Sharas was also playing the drums as Bakas was getting out of time and out of the band also. This led to a major change in October – Andriusha from the alternative band SH took over the drums and Kliupikas from Power Packed joined as the second guitar and vocals. But this line-up was short-lived as Andriusha went to England and Kliupikas was getting too busy with his job and his studies. At this critical point, the drummer Arnas from Empy-X helped MOUNTAINSIDE.
In May of 2000, the permanent drummer Karolis was found and Indre, an ex-F.A.K.S., was asked to sing on a few songs during studio sessions.
In October of 2002, the new vocalist Darius joined the band for the great delight of Rytelis who had become fed up with singing and playing simultaneously. Quite fast, Darius became a permanent member of MOUNTAINSIDE. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
