Nantucket
Nantucket formed in North Carolina and became a huge success in the southeast as a original band and eventually became a powerful and tenacious sensation, amassing thousands of fans in America, Europe and Japan.
The band signed with Epic Records and released its self-titled album in 1978, featuring the AOR hit single “Heartbreaker”. This album sold well over 200,000 copies and also made the Billboard charts. This first album can stand on its own merit as a Nantucket Greatest Hits package with classics such as, “Never Gonna Take Your Lies”, “Real Romance”, “She’s No Good”, “Quite Like You” and all time favorites “Born in a Honky Tonk”.
An aggressive cross-country tour followed, and Nantucket opened for headlining acts such as KISS, Styx, Boston, Mother’s Finest, Journey, and The Doobie Brothers. In 1979, Nantucket followed up with “Your Face Or Mine”.
Nantucket released an Original Archives in 2010 that is the ultimate Southern Fried Boogie Woogie experience. This officially authorized Tommy Redd, Nantucket compilation features performances spanning their original career. The album has been delicately preserved from vintage analog reels, demos and out-takes, restored digitally to the fullest possible sound to compensate age and to preserve the history of the band.
