Nehëmah
Nehëmah is a French black metal band who have released three full length albums: 'Light of a Dead Star', 'Shadows from the Past' and 'Requiem Tenebrae', two demos: 'Light of a Dead Star' and 'Nehëmah', one split 7" EP with Vultyr, and one live album: 'In November Live...'. The demo and full length of the same name share some of the same songs but have different tracks between the two that make them seperate each. Started in 1992, the band is still active.
NEHËMAH is a "Black Metal" project born the 31st octobrer 1992. The only one demo "Light of a Dead Star" (1995), recorded with Eligor (guitars) is the fruit of nightmares and dark entities who haunt Corven.
The convictions of the band were to stay underground, so only 166 copies were distributed. After this, Corven stoped the project for personnals reasons...
It's only in the autumn 2000 that the band can guarantee a return potentially as silky musicaly, but with an inner power unshakeable. Eligor was replaced by Nocturnos, Dargon as drummer, and Corven assured the bass and the vocals.
In march 2001, some titles of the 95's demo were recorded again with a better sound nearby some french labels.
In the middle of summer 2001, the arrival of Sorghal reinforce the guitars lines for the birth of the album "Light of a Dead Star".
While the recording of "Shadows From the Past..." (who is the end of the demo), Nocturnos, left NEHËMAH.
The spirit of NEHËMAH turns perpetualy around the suicide, Sumerian / Assyrian mythology, Cabal, the death, the odours that she let in the spirit and the life of ones who have hug from near orfar, the nightmares, as well homages to insane and historic womans, at goddess and nocturn entity. NEHËMAH is the Sumerian pseudonym of reptilian Lilith :
"The black moon, the shadow, the unconscious of dark drive, queen of ghouls and first wife of Adam. In join the Black Angel Samaël in the heart of the raven, the flight of Lilith, the brushing of her black and cold wings , her scream of distress and of death in the night inhabited by worrying ghosts, arouse the profounder terrors of human memory."
Following this release, Corven stopped the project temporarily and it’s only in Autum 2000 that NEHËMAH can finally come back with more strength quite as musically sick as before, but with bigger inner power.
Corven welcomed 2 new musicians into the band and they recorded their first album with producer Ludo Tournier.

NEHËMAH recorded its second album during summer 2002.
The band hit the road for its first french tour at the end of september-beg. of October with label mates Blodsrit, Belenos as opening bands.
“Shadows From The Past” is finally released in january 2003 and confirms the statut of leader of the French “True” Black Metal scene.
After the "From the Past Tour…" in october 2002, several melodies & writting came from the misty lands of Orion/Syrius and reached earth through the spirit of NEHËMAH.
During 3 weeks, Corven stayed concentrate in order to organise all those informations sent by the dreaming dead “Great Old Ones”.
“Requiem Tenebrae” was taking form...
Their dreams and the Necronomicon’s keys are present in the structures and the melodies of this esoteric album. Some songs are also “haunted” by the crow-spirit created by the dark mind of Corven...
For sure, NEHËMAH has created a new masterpiece of true black metal.
