Orango
"The energy is all over you. When the band breaks loose there's no way
you'll stay unaffected. This is classic rock inspired by the masters of the
sixties and seventies. Well composed and no compromise whatsoever." This is
how Aftenposten, one of the leading Norwegian newapapers, described Orango's
debut album "Villa Exile" - a great piece of work which nearly took too long
in the making. After two sold out EPs and hundreds of gigs the band took
some time off, only to work up a sweat: "Villa Exile" was rehearsed and
recorded by themselves in their own studio on their own terms, only helped
by the deep love of the sound that fires them up. Orango is without doubt a
part of a long tradition that includes heroes of the golden years, all the
way from Free and Fogerty to the likes of Crosby and Charles. When the band
combines their brilliant tunes with a Mars Volta-like energy and 'feel' only
achieved by the masters of Motown, that's when it gets mindblowing. And
Orango will be true to their vision as they're getting ready for the rest.
The band is now preparing for more gigs, and 2010 will see new long awaited
Orango releases. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
