2. Perestroika was a hardcore punk band from Finland active in 1988-1991. Perestroika was founded when two hardcore acts, Valtiokolhoosi and Ytimenjatke were combined. At first the line up was Jone (drums), Make L (bass), Asko (vocals) from Valtiokolhoosi and Late (vocals) and Make P (guitars) from Ytimenjatke. With this line-up the band released a split EP with Raamattupiiri in 1988. In 1989 Asko was fired from the band, and Perestroika continued as a four-piece. In 1989 they also released Kumisinfonia EP, which contained four of their songs. 500 copies were printed, and Kumisinfonia quickly sold out. Some of their songs also featured on various hardcore compilations. They also recorded a few demos. They intented to release a record in Brazil, as well, but the tapes were lost.
Even though Perestroika's career wasn't long, they played gigs in all the major cities of Finland, as well as in Poland and Sweden. When Perestroika split up in 1991, Make P and Jone went on to form a new band called Pop Dolan.
