Panican Whyasker
PanicanWhyasker is a rock band from Bulgaria.
The band's debut album R’N’R Coma came out in year 2000 and it was awarded for Best Debut at the Bulgarian Music TV (MMTV) Annual Awards.
Their second album Digital Zombie came out in 2001. It won the award for Best Rock Album at the MMTV Awards in 2002. Unlike the first two albums, the band's third album Eastern European Monkeys was written entirely in English and it was released in the summer of 2005. And yet again it was awarded for Best Rock Album for 2005 at the MMTV Awards.
At the beginning of 2006, the band’s original bass player Sasho Yanev left the band and was replaced by Marto, who had played with various Sofia-based bands such as Subtierra, Bad Habit and Awake.
For the last three years the band’s drummer Dakata has also been gaining touring experience at European clubs and festivals with the Bulgarian ska-punk band Wickeda.
Nufry is also a member of the Bulgarian D&B band R.O.B.T.F. whose latest album Eco-Teleporter has been well-received by local and international audiences.
Over six years Panican Whyasker have been playing extensively in clubs and at festivals all over Bulgaria. The band was the supporting act of the American alternative-rock legends Living Colour for their show in Bulgaria in 2004. In 2006 they were the opening act for Fun Loving Criminals and Billy Gould’s (Faith No More) La Plebe (Tangra Mega Rock).
The band has been currently rehearsing and working on new songs for their upcoming fourth album, expected later in 2007.
