Phantom/Ghost
Phantom/Ghost was formed in a hotel bar by producer and musician Thies Mynther (Die Regierung, Stella, Superpunk) and Tocotronic's singer, songwriter and guitarist, Dirk von Lowtzow - both local heroes of the Hamburg, Germany music scene. The band's first, self-titled album was released in 2001. To Damascus (2003) continued the morbid/mythic electro pop approach of their debut and might be their best known album to date. It was followed in 2006 by a change of direction with Three and the ballad/shanty laden, piano driven Thrown Out of Drama School in 2009. Thrown Out of Drama School features a cover version of Right Said Fred's You're My Mate.
In 2012 they released the album Pardon My English and dropped the slash from their name to mark a departure from ironic formalism. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
