Pikaya
Christian Kaske, Daniel Ramm and Frank Greiner were born in east germany in the late 70 s. Ever since they conciously listened to music, their main pleasure has been to explore changing musical trends. Emotion has been the transmitter of their cooperation. In the brandenburg musical scene, however, you where pretty isolated with this attitude.
During their youthfull escapades of the 90s their ways kept crossing. Christian Kaske and Frank Greiner have known each other since 1993. They went to the same school and spend their freetime spinning records. At their first partys they both discovered their passion for electronical club musik and musical extravanagzas. In 1995 Frank Greiner played his first set in a Club in Frankfurt/ Oder. Daniel Ramm was so intrigued by his independent mix of dub, trip hop, rock and jazz, that after a thrilling conversation a friendship started.
Daniel is obsessed by programming music. With his Amiga500 he discovered his opportunities of producing music in 1993. From initially melodic trance with 140 bpm to a sudden inspiration by slower house music, he did several live sets in Brandenburg region and his home town with a little set-up. His training as electronical communication engineer reinforced his interest in producing sounds.
In 1999 each of them moved to Berlin. Their love of electronical music, however, soon brought them together again. Pikaya ist the result of the musical journey of the three young men, who have clipped their heads and machines together since 2000. On the way they constantly grabbled with their respective ideas, but still managed to compose songs together.
Christian Kaske is a professional sound designer and film composer and plays the bass and the guitar. As medusa& defusa he and Frank can be regularily been seen celebrating bizzare entertainment music in the Berlin Nightlife.
