Psychofagist
Psychofagist was a mathcore band originally formed in 2001 in Novara, Italy.
The band's music can be described as an avant-garde grindcore which incorporates elements of noise music, technical death metal, punk jazz and free improvisation. Its members mentioned that their key influences are Fantômas, Painkiller, The Locust, Mr. Bungle, Primus, Black Sabbath and Area.
Over the years, Psychofagist recorded three full length studio albums, have played about 150 shows, including international festivals, and shared the stage with acts such as Brutal Truth, Zu, Ephel Duath, Extreme Noise Terror, Damo Suzuki, Misery Index, and Fuck the Facts.
In late 2013, the band announced on their Facebook page that they are breaking up.
