Reggie Buie Trio
The Reggie Buie Trio began performing as a unit in August 2004 in several local Winston Salem venues. All the members had distinguished themselves while working with many of the Triad's most well known performers. In June of 2005, the Trio started a weekly series called Friday Night Jazz at the Bits and Bytes Coffee Shop in Winston Salem. They began to attract fans, many of whom would come back every week.
By October of 2005, many of the coffee shop patrons were making request to obtain recorded versions of their favorites performed by the Trio, and by January of 2006, the group released its debut CD "The First Time". The CD received high praise in it’s first music review done by Smother Magazine, and it soon began to attract attention thru CD Baby, a well known internet distributor. Though it has flown under the radar of the Triad’s local entertainment magazines, the trio was recently offered and accepted a distribution deal of it's CD's with Mondo Distribution, and "The First Time" will soon be available exclusively in all seven Tower Record Locations in the Philippines. The CD's are presently available for purchase online at www.reggiebuie.com and at Borders Records on Stratford Road in Winston Salem. The Trio members are Reggie Buie-Piano, Nathan Scott-Upright Bass and Mike Fowler-Drums.
