Renholder
Daniel Patrick Lohner (born December 13, 1970 in Corpus Christi, Texas), most commonly known as Danny Lohner is an industrial musician who plays bass guitar, guitar and keyboards. He has worked with Trent Reznor on numerous occasions, both with Nine Inch Nails and on the defunct Tapeworm project. He has also played for Killing Joke, Methods of Mayhem and in the past was one of the founding members of the now defunct industrial-thrash outlet Skrew as well as one of the members of the Texas thrash metal band Angkor Wat.
He also was featured on Marilyn Manson's breakthrough album Antichrist Superstar, as did most of Nine Inch Nails due to Trent Reznor's relationship with Manson, acting as his mentor in the world of music. Lohner can be heard playing the acoustic guitar on the track "The Reflecting God".
Additionally, he does remixes for various artists under the pseudonym Renholdër ("re:d.lohner" backwards) such as the song of the same title featured on A Perfect Circle's debut album Mer de Noms. He has appeared in all of A Perfect Circle's albums to date in one form or another, and has also appeared on stage with them.
He is currently a studio member of Puscifer, helping with engineering and filling in for instruments and vocals as necessary.
During 2003, Lohner worked with Richard Patrick of Filter, Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit and From First to Last, and Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle, in a project called The Damning Well. A total of 14 songs were recorded, but only one of these has been released ('Awakening') which was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Underworld. So far, there have been no plans to release the rest of the songs.
In 2005 and 2006, Lohner was involved with Wes Borland in a project called Black Light Burns, taking on the role of producer as well as playing guitar, bass, synth, programming, etc. The project is somewhat of a successor to The Damning Well, as it involved most of its members, as well as certian portions of material from The Damning Well. Other members include Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv and Josh Freese. The release is to be released on June 5th, 2007, followed by a tour which Lohner will not be able to participate in due to his current activities.
He also worked with Japanese rock artist Hyde in 2005-06, recording bass tracks along with Craig Adams on Hyde's new album FAITH. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
