Revolution (Revo)
Revolution is a Brazilian band formed in 1997, by Dragão Vermelho and Starfox, ex-Inckallyf members. Both were fired from Inckallyf and formed Revolution as an answer. The band started slowly and entered in a short hiatus in 1999 and 2000. In 2001, band members got together and started putting new ideas into record. In 2002, the musicians of the band made a different deal: the band would be a "collective effort of solo careers", where musicians would have freedom to compose and record whatever they wanted. Then they would mix the songs recorded in albums and release them.
The current line-up has 14 members: Dragão Vermelho, Starfox, Misterioso, Obs, Pato, Mickey, Roberto, Bob, Fran, Dina, Ambarina, Sonic, Cisne and Green Emerald. The songs are composed and recorded by some of the members and the result is a great diversity of sounds and influences. The main composers are Dragão Vermelho, Roberto, ex-member of the duo Roberto & Márcio, Misterioso and Obs, ex-member of the legendary band The Beagles. The sound of the band is eclectic, with diverse influences, but the predominance is classic rock and indie rock. Pato, who collaborated with the psychedelic rock and avant-garde duo Pó-de-mico & Bola brought his experience and synthesizers to shape the experimental sound of the band, which can be heard in many of their songs. DJs Bob e Fran add the electronic, dance and techno touches to the band sound.
The band has a dozen albums released since 2008, from a pool of more than six thousand songs composed by the band members. They intend to record several more albums, always trying to improve the quality of the sound and adding complexities to the band sound and production. Read more on Last.fm.
