Ron Spielman
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Ron Spielman was born in 1964 in Schweinfurt, Germany.
He grew up with his mother, never got to know his father.
He received his first guitar at the age of 14, taught himself his first chords and riffs by listening to records and has never been able to live without a guitar ever since.
Ron’s mother died when he was 16. From then on Ron concentrated on the music that meant so much to him: Rhythm ´n` Blues, Rock, Soul & Jazz.
In 1985 he decided to become a professional musician, stopped his career as a carpenter and he has been living on music since then.
He formed his first band in the `80´s. He has since lived in New York and Boston, and toured with The Little River Band, the late Steve Marriott, Dave Stewart, The Chick Corea Electric Band, Bob Geldof, The Climax Blues Band, Johnny Guitar Watson and many others.
Until 2001 he published 4 CDs with the Ron Spielman Band, a Rhythm `n`Blues band he had formed in 1991.
In 1999 Ron moved to Berlin, where he met the British artist and musician John C. Barry, who often writes the lyrics for Ron’s music.
In 2002 he began to work with drummer and producer Torsten Krill. Together they produced two CDs for Torsten Krill’s Indie label „frimfram“, two CDs that present Ron’s skills as a musician in a very relaxed atmosphere, concentrating on pure songs composed around Ron’s voice and his acoustic guitar: „From My Songbook“ (2006) and „Hilltop Garden (2007).
