Runaway Boys
Runaway Boys was the band that The Living End guitarist, Chris Cheney, and bassist, Scott Owen, formed in the early 1990s. The band played covers of 50's rock and rockabilly bands, such as the Stray Cats. The name of the band came from the Stray Cats song "Runaway Boys". The two were obsessed with the Stray Cats at the time. It later evolved into The Living End in 1994 after the original drummer Joe Piripitzi joined Cheney and Owen.
The band recorded only a few songs, mainly covers, which are available in bootlegged format at the 23rd Precinct ([1]), a Living End tribute site. These songs include "Blue Days, Black Nights" (Buddy Holly cover), "Lookin Out My Backdoor" (Creedence Clearwater Revival cover), "Real Gone Cats" (??? cover), "Rock This Town" (Stray Cats cover), "Twenty Flight Rock" (Eddie Cochran cover).
Also on the website are the songs "Oh Boy" (Buddy Holly cover) and "So Lonely" (original, also featured on the Hellbound EP). These are both live recordings.
Other songs: "Get Off My Cloud" (Rolling Stones cover), "She Always Lies" written by Chris Cheney, "Fishnet Stockings" (Stray Cats cover), "Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie" (Eddie Cochran cover), "Stray Cat Strut" (Stray Cats cover), "Something Else" (Eddie Cochran cover), "You Got Me Runnin'" (Jimmy Reed cover).
