Ryan Crosson
Born and raised in Metro-Detroit, Ryan (realeasing also under "Berg Nixon" moniker) discovered electronic music in his late teenage years After strictly DJing for a few years, he took the next logical step by beginning to produce his own music in Fall 2003. Drawing from artists like Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Stewart Walker, and a heavy dose of Magda DJ sets, Ryan focused his attention on percussive programming, dubby basslines, and dark atmospheres. By expressing a tireless work ethic in the studio, Ryan was soon noticed for his efforts by local Detroit label, Beretta Music. Not long after this, Ryan signed music to Cologne based label Trapez Limited just one year after he began writing music. The EP release on Trapez LTD. titled, "Say So " was well received with many positive reviews from a plethora of international artists.
In between the signing and release of his first record, Ryan also put together a 4 track mp3 EP for the Montreal based Archipel Net-Label. His music has also appeared on two various artist compilations for TicTacToe records and Year of the Machine recordings.
In the Summer of 2005, Ryan played his first international dates with impressive live performances in Berlin, and Cologne. As more opportunities arise, Ryan wishes to tour more internationally and hopes to develop a relationship with a core group of 2-3labels where he can fully develop his sound and take his production to the next level. Current influences include Ricardo Villalobos, Matthew Dear, Guido Schneider and Troy Pierce. Read more on Last.fm.
