Rydell
There are three artists under the name Rydell:
1) A now defunct Hardcore band from Tunbridge Wells, UK.
2) A hardrock band from Netherlands
3) Techno producer Sascha Rydell.
4) Pop Punk Band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
1) Formed in the late nineties when Miles Booker (Vocals / Guitar), Adam French (Bass) and David Gamage (Guitar), former members Kent hardcore band Couch Potatoes, decided it was time to try something different. With the addition of Duncan Morris (Drums) the band began playing shows as a four piece until Mark Wilkinson (Guitar), also a member of long running band Rudedog, joined in late 1999, allowing Miles to concentrate on vocals. Their first album Per Ardua Ad Astra was called "the Best British Emo Album Ever" by Kerrang. They disbanded in 2003 after 2 LPs, a 7" and numerous splits releases and compilation apperances which where collected on a CD release called Always Remember Everything. Since then a retrospective Anchors & Parachutes compiled of tracks from the bands 7"s, split releases and the LPs.
2) Rydell is a hardrock band from the Netherlands, with influences from stoner and metal. Dirty and heavy, smelling of beer and motor oil, with lyrics about drinking, women and muscle cars. Fully loaded with clichés of 70's and 80's music, combined with modern day hardrock. Rydell disbanded in the end of 2010 to rise again in 2011 as BINFORD.
