SLIME BALL
Japanese pop punk band.
SLIME BALL was formed in 2004 (Tokyo, Japan) by Mako ( ex.SHERBET, ex.REACH, ex.HOMMY ), Katayama ( ex.SHERBET, ex.THUMB, ex.SEXER ), Hazawa ( ex.GREEN GIANT, ex.THUMB, ex.SEXER ) and Yuki ( ex.FUNSIDE, ex.REACH ).
All of these guys have been leading the Japanese melodic punk scene, along with Hi-Standard since the mid 90's. Having all of these guys back together as one band again has been long awaited and has created quite a lot of public attention. After a tour with Ken Yokoyama in January 2005, the then unsigned quartet also caught the attention of Pizza Of Death Records and they recorded a 7 song mini album that Spring. In yet another strange twist of fate, Yuki had decided to leave the band just prior the the album's release. Luckily, the were able to call upon another long time friend and band mate Yosuke ( ex.SHERBET, ex.THUMB, ex.HOMMY) to fill the bass job and continue on as SLIME BALL.
So they released their first mini album, titled "SLIME BALL", on July 20th 2005. After the release of "SLIME BALL" they started touring and gaining more momentum which led to the release of an international 4-way split out from the now defunct BUZZTONE Records with SECONDSHOT/TEN FOOT POLE from the U.S. and locofrank and SLIME BALL for the Japanese side. Then their first full album from Pizza Of Death Records "THE POINT IN TIMEbiography" in August of 2006 and a full tour of Japan following. On 2/17/07 Yosuke played his last show as Slime Ball..s bassist. After a six month hiatus, Shintaro became their support bassist starting from 10/24/08 at Shimokitazawa Shelter. Shintaro became Slime Ball..s full-time bassist as of 1/11/09. SLIME BALL is ready again to lead the Tokyo melodic punk scene once again!! Read more on Last.fm.
