SMC Lähiörotat
SMC Lähiörotat is a hip hop group from Helsinki, Finland. SMC is an abbreviaton for Skatemaniacs.
The collective consists of rappers Juno, Thono Slowknow, Avionin Prinssi and Erä-Koira. They released their debut album "Raffii Suomi-flättii" in 2011.
The band became known for the music video "SMC Hoodrats", made for Skatemaniacs -skateboarding film, added to YouTube in December 2009. The music video is directed by Mr. Pablo Films and lent Mobb Deepin "Shook Ones Part II" song beats. The video instantly attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers. Especially the end of the video, where Erä-koira raps, became an Internet phenomenon with the words "Iha vitun jepa".
Another SMC video, "Lähiörotat Skujaa", was added to YouTube in October 2010. Topics continued along the same lines as the previous lyrics. Mr. Pablo Films directed the video again, and beat was made by Finns K.V.N & Lobo. The song also features the rapper Notkea Rotta. The video collected about 100 000 views in one day and it was the most watched music video in the world on YouTube for that day. In the coming weeks the video collected nearly a half million views.
