Sarassas Music
Sarassas Music is a Spanish group formed by Fabio McNamara, Antonio Villa-Toro and Agustín Querol. The first record of this irreverent, cool and witty band is entitled "Mariclones". It has 10 original tracks and 5 mixes by mixers like Nacho Canut (Jet 7) and Juanimisterfly, (ex Lemon^Fly).
In their own words: "This record has been done for our own pleasure. We don't have the need to write or edit records. We don’t want to be interviewed and we will never play live… unless you pay very well"
Fabio McNamara has never been very prolific composer but he has written some of the wittiest lyrics ever in Spanish pop music. After creating Almodóvar & McNamara, together with Pedro Almodóvar, they published a record 'Cómo está el servicio... de señoras', with tracks such as 'Suck it to me', 'Gran ganga' or 'Voy a ser mamá'. It is, after all those years, his biggest and most popular album, due of course to the presence of the Oscar-winner director Pedro Almodovar.
In 1995 Fabio McNamara launched together with Luis Miguélez, the group Glamour to Kill, and they edited the record 'A tutti plain', however their greatest album was 'Rock Station' (2001). This was one of the trendiest records in discos all over the country, with classics such as 'Gritando Amor', 'Boogie Movie', 'Mi correo electronic... oh!' or 'Ultraceñidas'.
Sarassas' Music album is full of frantic rhythm, impossible rhymes and camp and trash references to popular mainstream idols such as Madonna, Paris Hilton or Desperate Housewive's Brie Van de Kamp. A bright, clever and hilarious breath of fresh air on Spanish pop music.
