Sensor
There is more than one band called "Sensor".
1.Sensor is a Russian band.
Sensor started as a group in 2005, when Dimitri Kozlov (guitar, synthesizers, back-vocal), Ilya Pavlov (vocal, keyboards) and Andrey Smayev (drums, programming) decided to try themselves on the stage. The idea was to gather the best musical trends of the last 30 years in a single musical canvas. Several old-fashioned analogue synthesizers, drums, and a PC in small premises at the car park – such was unpretentious environment in which the group started to carry out their ambitious plans.
Soon after a bass-guitarist Alexey Bogatkov had joined the group, the quarter finally decided upon its musical concept. Pulsing rhythm-section, aloof vocal, volatile guitars, up-to date computer technologies, alongside with old analogue synthesizers of the past century, – all that became the immediate constituents of the debut album. Passionate admirers of the British music, the musicians did not hesitate to choose English lyrics as wording to their music. An accidental Internet acquaintance with an American poet Charlie Mason resulted in their further successful cooperation. Ten musical compositions recorded by “Sensor” within a year, was the outcome of prolonged studio sessions held through the Internet in distant parts of the globe.
Recorded in 2008, LP 'Naked’ sold poorly and year later the band split.
In 2009 Dimitri Kozlov briefly formed The Tapeaters with vocalist/songwriter Vadim Pukhov.

Sensor is a band composed of trully complete artists which impress through stile and attitude, to begin with. Their musical styles vary from drum & bass and jazz to rock and even hip-hop. They experience with many classical instruments but also use non-conventional tools like brushes, buckets, barrels, pipes. Sensor is more than music, it's a combination of sound and movement - music, theatre, and exquisite dancing - that results in a unique artistic show everytime they are on stage. They continuously try to induce the most intense human feelings through their live representations.
Sensor has released two albums: Lands (2002) and E-volution (2004). The band collaborated with a lot of since formation (Sorin Danescu, Marius Mihalache, Ioana Marchidan, Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica, Iris, George Vintila, Vita de Vie, Dan Chisu). They also crossed the borders to many countries all over the world, including Slovenia, Hungary, France, Belgium, and Malayssia.
Also worth mentioning is that the hit Help Yourself (Lands album) managed to stay in MTV Romanian Top 10 for an amazing 18 weeks, and its video was awarded Best Video at MTV Romanian Music Awards 2005.
