Sizzy Rocket
I moved to the bright, dreamy lights of New York from Las Vegas, Nevada when I was 18 - legal enough to buy cigarettes but not nearly legal enough for the sleeplessness that is New York City. I had a few things under my belt - 14 years of classical piano lessons, a brief stunt on America’s Most Talented Kids when I was 12 (performing an original song), followed by magazine spreads in TRACE, CosmoGirl, and Seventeen, a weekend writing songs on the John Lennon Tour Bus with will.i.am, Natasha Bedingfield, and Yoko Ono (all at the same time), and more than a few sold out shows at The House of Blues both in my hometown and Los Angeles. But when I hit the ground at the JFK airport ready to start my freshman year at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, nothing could prepare me for my journey. Now, here I am 3 years later as the piano-driven trill pop artist Sizzy Rocket: THRILLS enthusiast (check the debut EP and the forearm tattoo), zine self-publisher of the same name, and Iggy Pop connoisseur. I’ve played sold out shows in my 9-inch platform shoes around the Lower East Side from Rockwood Music Hall to Santos Party House, and just inked a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. But this is only the beginning - not even legal enough to drink yet, I’m ready for New York, ready for the THRILLS, and ready to entertain you. Read more on Last.fm.
