So Called Plan
Finnish punk rock band So Called Plan started up in 2003, when previously in bands like LongBall Pride and Sidewalk played Eero Saarikoski (vocals, guitar), Ville Asp (drums, vocals), Joni Saarinen (bass) and jussi Bang (guitar) got to know each other and started to make music together.
So Called Plan recorded two demos (in 2003 and 2004) and played gigs in Finnish punk clubs. At this point the band's music was melodic skate punk.
As the band had been playing together for a while, they started to expand their musical style over the limits of traditional punk rock. The music was still clearly punk, but it had elements of heavy metal, synth pop and even classical music in it.
During 2005 So Called Plan experienced big changes. The band signed a record deal with Finnish Hype Records, whose album distribution is made through Playground Music Scandinavia. At this time the band's guitarist Jussi had to start focusing more on his future career, whish resulted in him leaving the band. Fortunately So Called Plan found a new guitar player very soon, when an old friend Sauli Sipilä joined the group.
The debut album, Suburbian Symphony, was recorded during fall 2005. A video of the song Right Direction was also filmed. The first single got released in February 2006, and the whole album on March, 15th.
