Spo-dee-O-dee
There are at least three bands that used the name "Spo-Dee-O-Dee"
1. Spo-Dee-O-Dee was formed in 1992 as a jive/swingin outfit by Andy Warner (originally playing double bass back then...) and Mike Brushman ( former members of Germanys best DooWop group "The BelAngels"). Ralf joined in 1994 and they decided to play more and more rockabilly which has always been a part of their set. This line-up was going from strengh to strengh during the following years. The result was a record contract with Tail Records in Sweden. Their 2 releases have reached international recognition and SPO-DEE-O-DEE became a solid act on the international Rockabilly scene. After several other hot-selling records Mike found his love touring the USA and that's where he lives right now! After he quit SPO-DEE-O-DEE they played with several well-known German drummers until they found the perfect replacement in Mike Millet aka Maico, the former drummer of "Junior Marvel and the Hi-Flyers".

2. Spo.Dee.O.Dee is named after a rock & roll song by Sticks McGee and after the American name for a drink made of whiskey and red whine. The band was founded in January 1989 in Amsterdam. The band members were Ross Curry (voice, guitar), Jan Holtman (drums, percussion) and Ralph Brink (backing vocals, bass). In the same year they released their debut single Stand Up.
In 1991, their first album Goin' Walkabout is released. It is recorded in Hamburg. The band members place their music in between Otis Redding and Led Zeppelin, but critics often refer to Black Sabbath and Black Crowes. (Frontman Ross Curry would later perform in a Black Crowes tribute tour). The album also features a cover by the Bee Gees, Jive Talkin'.
Two years later, their second album called Second Coming is released. Critics are enthusiastic and reviews are very positive, but a breakthrough stays out. One year later, the band unfortunately falls apart due to the lack of success. This album also features a cover, 'She Said She Said' by the Beatles.
In 2002, the band tours with its original members under the name Seed.
3. An hungarian rockabilly/swing band established in 1997 by Tamás Szabó and Zoltán Nemes. See http://www.szajharmonika.hu/spo-dee_en.php for more information. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
