Stan Bush
Stan Bush is an American guitarist and singer-songwriter whose most notable work are the songs "Dare" and "The Touch" from the soundtrack to the 1986 animated film 'Transformers: The Movie', album oriented rock and power pop influenced tunes that still enjoy radio airplay. He's also known for the song "She's Got the Power", featured in the American voice dub of the animated series 'Sailor Moon'.
He started his music career in 1979 as a member of the group Boulder, which released an album on Elektra that year. Going solo with a deal with Columbia, Bush released his self-titled debut in 1983. Similar to 80s contemporaries such as Eddie Money and Rick Springfield, he had an energetic rock sound with a heavy emphasis on crunchy guitar riffs.
Putting together a backing band called 'Barrage' featuring guitarist Don Kirkpatrick, keyboardist Rick Serrate, bassist Mike Seifrit, and drummer Jack White, Bush's next album brought him cult stardom. The 1987 release featured "The Touch", a track created for the Transformers movie that numerous fans of the franchise have loved.
Other notable work includes the song "Fight for Love" from the movie 'Kickboxer' as well as the theme from 'Bloodsport', titled "Fight to Survive". Both movies starred actor and athlete Jean-Claude Van Damme. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
