Street Drum Corps
Street Drum Corps is a punk rock percussion band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2004 by Bobby Alt, of S.T.U.N. and Faculty X, Adam Alt, of Circus Minor, and Frank Zummo, of TheStart. They have been part of tours such as Van's Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, 30 Seconds to Mars's Into The Wild Tour and Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution.
To date, the group have released two studio albums, Street Drum Corps in 2006 and We Are Machines in 2008 (both produced by DJ Lethal), and three singles, the cover of John Lennon & Yoko Ono's song Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (feat. Bert McCracken of The Used) in 2005, Action! in 2007 and the latest, Knock Me Out, in 2010.
After being signed by Interscope Records, the group began recording the follow up to We Are Machines in the Summer of 2009. The group plan on releasing a double album with the first disc being all-drumming and syncopated rhythms featuring guest drummers, produced by the band and Jamie Rise, and the second being a collection of rock songs recorded with producer Howard Benson, whose past credits include albums by My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach and Vendetta Red. Featured guests on the album include drummers Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe, Brandon Saller of Atreyu, Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver, Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion, Adrian Young of No Doubt, and Shannon Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars as well as bassist Matt Wachter of Angels & Airwaves.
During live performances, the group uses instruments such as drum kits, garbage cans, hand drums, acoustic, buckets, kitchenware, recycled aluminium, rain barrels, marching band equipment, and even power tools to produce a grinding effect during live shows and have performed with the likes of Stomp, No Doubt, Bad Religion, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, Atreyu, 30 Seconds to Mars, Strung Out, Alexisonfire and Deftones. Bert McCracken of The Used and Airin Older of Sugarcult have performed with Street Drum Corps several times, and shared the stage with them for the song Flaco 81. Read more on Last.fm.
