Sub Dub Micromachine
H-Beta (bass, programming), Kirk de Burgh (vocals, guitars) and Marcello Goldhofer (drums) have each been known in Berlin’s music scene since the late eighties. Back then they all were in different bands until they found singer J.D. in 1997. Together the group started to rock the house as a post-punk band.
During that time it came to a major deal, several entries in music charts and playtime on MTV Germany. After J.D. quit, the band kept going as a trio. They went back to their roots and thought about their strength in music: more metal and a bigger, badder sound! This marks the birth of Sub Dub Micromachine.
The SDMM phenomenon made its rounds: there wasn’t a club in the country the ‘Micromachine’ didn’t bring to the boiling point. The first album called Rabautz! was finally released in the spring of 2002 on Tubareckorz/SPV.The songs were down to the point, talking about real life situations: everything from love to hate, everyday craziness and the sometimes hard life of a musician.
The second album entitled Auferstanden! followed in 2008 along with a lavish high-quality music video for “Road to Nowhere”. As of 2014 the band is back in studio and recording their third album.
