Texture Like Sun

It probably doesn’t sound like a compliment to say that a song sounds like an argument, but in the case of ‘Bottle’ from Melbourne’s Texture Like Sun, it’s an oddly apt description and far from a slur.
An elegant meditation on the games we play with ourselves through the course of addiction, whether it be to alcohol, drugs or love, the internal arguments are universal. With each line comes another layer of sound, from a melodic phrase to a distant harmony until the song reaches its crescendo – like the arguments it replicates, the concluding blow is both stunning and revelatory.
The first track to be taken from Texture Like Sun’s forthcoming album, due in 2011, ‘Bottle’ has been a long time coming. Recorded over the course of a year in both Darwin and Melbourne, ‘Bottle’ was produced by Countbounce (TZU’s Pip Norman) who has previously worked with Urthboy and Ash Grunwald. Read more on Last.fm.
