The Avons
There were at least four groups who used this name:
1) An American do0-wop group whose biggest hit was "Baby" in 1957.
2) A British pop music vocal group, composed of Valerie Murtagh (born 1936, Willesden, London) and Elaine Murtagh, (born 1940, County Cork, Eire) and they were originally known on stage as 'The Avon Sisters'. They then added Raymond S. Adams (born 1938, Jersey, Channel Islands), and changed their name to 'The Avons'.
3) Another UK group formed in the 1980s.
4) An underground avant-pop band from Illinois. Also known as: L'Avons. From 2003-present. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
