The Bandits
There are (at least) 3 bands named The Bandits.
1) A fictional band featured in the German movie “Bandits” (1997). The movie soundtrack, released under the band's name, sold over 700.000 copies in Germany and includes the tracks Catch Me, Puppet and All Along the Watchtower, among others.
2) A classic mersey band of the highest order, The Bandits released their first song in 2001 on the 'Beatin' Planks' compilation. Gaining notority in their local scene for their famed Bandwagon night at Liverpool's Zanzibar club they were signed to B-Unique Records and released (via Warner) one album, '...And They Walked Away' in 2003. Their sound is a mix of classic scouse bands like The Coral and The La's, and the album is indicative of the music coming out of Liverpool at the time it was released. Band member were John Robinson (Vocals), Gary Murphy (Rhythm Guitar), Richie Taylor (Lead Guitar), Scott Dullson (Bass), David 'Swee' Sweeney (Drums), Tony Dunne (Keys). They disbanded soon after releasing their album and have moved on to other projects, John and Scott are now playing in The Pedantics.
3) A psychedelic band spawned from the streets of a small town called Marietta, Georgia. They are one of the only rock bands known to have existed and actually released music commercially in what was then a desolate enclave of northern GA. Read more on Last.fm.
