The Birds
They were a Mid-60s British R'n'B group fronted by singer Ali Mackenzie (including future Jeff Beck Group, Faces and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood), who released 4 (effectively double A sided) singles.
The Birds were aheard of their time with their loud primitive sound yet ironically did not release any albums. All their works are best captured on the must own compilation entitled "A collectors guide to the rare British Birds." Their contempories included The Pretty Things, The Yardbirds, The Creation, The Who, The Others and The Rolling Stones.
Ali Mackenzie now fronts The Ali Mac Band. You can hear Ali without or without his band routinely performing at the Eel Pie Club and The Crawdaddy Club in South West London. While Ronnie Wood still plays with the Rolling Stones.
